April Fool's 2008 joke
From the Metal Gear Wiki
On April 1, 2008, Jade Raymond and Hideo Kojima presented the newest trailer for a game in the **** series. The game's name is intentionally censored when Raymond says it, to prevent negative response from fans. The trailer that Raymond shows is actually gameplay footage for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, with Old Snake wearing the costume of Altaïr from Assassin's Creed. The gameplay footage goes as far as to going into first person mode to show the amount of detail put into Altaïr-Snake's outfit, down to the blade-hiding gauntlets and short blade and throwing knives on his back. At the end of the trailer, Snake is slammed into by a Metal Gear Gekkou and Altaïr's outfit is thrown into the sky, revealing Snake in his sneaking suit underneath. Altaïr's uniform is an unlockable camouflage in Metal Gear Solid 4, due to the close friendship of Hideo Kojima and Jade Raymond. At the end of the video, a promotional poster is shown for a game called Assassin's Solid, with Snake in Altaïr's uniform from the cover art of Assassin's Creed. Kojima remarks, "Did you like it?," and the video ends.
