What weapons do you personally want to see be usable by Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5?

Before I make my list, here are some rules:

    1. I just want to share opinions.
    2. I'm not including Peace Walker weapons on my list because I assume most of them will be appearing in MGS5.
    3. The weapon MUST exist in the 1980s.
    4. Weapons that appeared in previous MGS games are okay, but it must exist in the 80s unless it's fictional.
    5. World War 2 weapons are okay.

My list of weapons that I would love to see be usable by Snake in MGS5:

    Melee Weapons and Miscellaneous:

    • Combat Knife
    • Fork
    • Spetsnaz Throwing Knives
    • Crossbow
    • Machete
    • Survival Knife
    • M2 flamethrower
    • Molotov Cocktails

    • Stechkin APS
    • SIG Sauer P226
    • Flare Gun
    • Type 67 Silenced Pistol
    • Heckler & Koch VP70

    My Review from MGR:R

The gameplay is great. Although it is a hack and slash games players may decide to use stealth.  Raiden uses HF blades as his main weapons and can acquire unique weapons at a certain point in the game through the customization menu. Raiden has a variety of moves of his arsenal. All moves are unlocked although you can purchase more damage dealing versions. A problem I encountered was the parry system. You must press the light attack button and push the analog stick in the direction of the enemie's attack. This often lead to many deaths. Platnium should have added circle as a parry button rather than the above. Raiden's awesome kick techniques can be sacrificed for unique weapon attacks, all of which are quite stylish. At…

I was mulling some things over, and at the risk of violating the whole religion and politics ban, I noticed that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and to some extent Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots seemed to have a bit of anti-Christian propaganda in addition to the more well-known anti-American propaganda.

You might disagree with me and view me as a nut after this, maybe even ban me for breaking the religion and politics ban, but at least hear me out, because there are some points that need to be addressed as to how it seems to be pushing said propaganda. It basically relates a lot to the Patriots, as well as to some extent Raiden and Solidus' backstory, also Solid Snake as well to some extent:

First, we need to get into the pre…

    My Introduction Blog

    September 18, 2013 by Janeo99

Ok I'm not sure if anyone will ever read this or if these blogs actually get read by anyone at all but I guess I will find out later right. I use to have a blog on ign and often write about metal gear, I got a pretty good following and even got one of articles on the front page. The article was about my top 5 favourite boss battles in the metal gear series and ign users did not agree with me, I got about 400 comments on my blog and most of them were either about my stupid choices (yes I didn't include psycho mantis in my top 5) or about my bad grammar, I admit I am not a good writer but people did go a bit far. So I left ign and that was almost a year ago, the reason I'm trying another blog is because I want to find people that appreciate …

To any and all Japanese-knowledgeable Wiki editors (ie, those who are fluent in writing and/or speaking Japanese):

As you might already be aware, September 30 is the deadline to get DLC for the PSP version of Peace Walker. I managed to take photographs for this wiki the PSN descriptions of Japanese-exclusive DLC (and in one set's case, the Japanese version of a DLC). I need any wiki editors with a firm grasp on the Japanese language to translate the following descriptions (and for the record, the foreground text is the one that needs translating):

The first five are from the AI Human Voice DLC (yes, I know that's also in the English version, but since the VA is obviously different between the two versions of each, I wanted to cover all the b…

Solid Snake vs Deadpool comepletely different  personalities altogether. We they do have somethings in common. Some things. One there both are high trained mercenaries both fluent in many languages both are heroes. Well Snake more than Deadpool. But that's where the similarities end.

Here's a good one. For those of you who play Metal Gear Rising Revengance. Well all know with Raiden new upgraded body has made stronger than his original cyborg body. But here's the question. How would fair in a fight against the Original Cyborg Ninja? By original I mean Gray Fox Frank Jaeger the Original Cyborg Ninja.

I guess one would argue that Raiden would win not necessarity. True Raiden is stronger than he was in MGS4. But Raiden has only his new cybernetic body for more than three months. Gray Fox has more experinece in his cybernetic body than Raiden and and top of that he was holding back when he was fighting Solid Snake. What constitutes a good game in the current era of video gaming?

If we look at the history of video games, there have been an insurmountable number of video games created.  From the Magnavox Odyssey to the WiiU, the industry has grown and developed.

And while there have been countless mediocre or somewhat decent games, there have been a large number of directorial and creative masterpieces designed and created by video game companies. To name a classic we're all familiar with; Metal Gear, on the MSX2 (NES for the North American version)

This game was revolutionary for its time: the goal of the game can be boiled down to "hide and seek", with the player character hiding from the guards seeking him. This game is the first mainstream stealth gam…

It occured to me since Volgin have electrokinesis powers and Cole MacGrath have electrokinesis powers too. So why not let these two duke it out for our amusment.

But I know what your thinking. You think MacGrath may have an edge on Volgin because he's younger faster and more agile than Volgin. Or you might be thinking be Volgin has more experience than MacGrath in terms of controlling his powers. So does Kessler. But that depends on the situation. And the fact Volgin is strong enough to punch a hole through a wall and the hide of The Shagohod. But the question remains the same. Who would in a fight between…

This is my first so please, give this a chance. I joined because I had to get it out there because it was obvious to me in a way. Isnt Quiet probably Sniper Wolf? There maybe something to eli being Liquid but we know Big Boss met her, trained her and anything else that wasn't mentioned (ah-hem), the age would be about right, white/blonde hair (okay reaching) and, more importantly she's a bloody sniper. Also it mentions that she was tortured by Ocelot which would maybe show why she had little interest in seeing Snake being treated the same, as anyone might. This could be a pretty good element to the game introducing the Next generation unit Fox hound to each other as we also saw Psycho Mantis as a kid can we expect the others?

Taking pictures of recovery items in MGS4: harder than it looks.

I've managed to snap two pictures of barely passable quality from Act 2, one for the Ration and one for the Noodles. I didn't bother photographing the Regain 24, Compress, or Pentazemin because there were shadows interfering or there wasn't enough space to move into position for the shot. These pics are intended to be temporary; if someone manages to take screenshots of those five items from the model viewer, please replace the images.

On another note, I was on MGS4's IMFDB page earlier today. See the screenshots? Here's the idea: maybe someone over there can help out.

Around about the time Peace Walker was initially released, I lost a lot of interest in running this site. I self imposed a sort of ban on myself, saying I would only come back every now and then to make sure the entire site hadn't fallen in on itself. I left everything in, what I considered, capable hands and went about my business.

With the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid V, I want to come back and help out once again. I've noticed a lot of articles run long and are needlessly detailed. There's nothing really wrong with that, it's just I personally feel people who have a newly vested interest in the series may come here to learn more about the games/characters/events and be turned off by the sheer depth of specific pages.

The Blade Wolf DLC released yesterday, and as a fan of the Metal Gear franchise, I felt obligated to buy it and share my opinions on it. Much like the Jetstream DLC, most of the content here is recycled, from enemies to environment. What we do get however, is a very different play style from the first two, which makes this one worth looking into to.

So I'm sure by now that most people have heard the news that David Hayter will not reprise his role as Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5. There is a petition going around in an effort to have the decision recanted as well as a formal statement and interview from Hayter himself. Hayter has taken the high road on the issue and has remained diplomatic about the surprising announcement. However despite what he says, I think that there is more to this story than Hayter is indicating. I read his statement and watched his interview and I have a hard time believing that after 15 years of playing the role of Snake that Kojima and Konami just simply and suddenly ousted him. And I find it even harder to believe that David went on a lunch date and just sat …

The Jetstream DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance released today, and I had a fair bit of fun with it. Of course, like the Awakened DLC for Dead Space 3, that may be because the core gameplay experience is incredibly satisfying, and not because it brings anything new to the table. That said, Jetstream does manage to give the gameplay a fresh spin, even if nearly everything is recycled. I suppose the question here isn't so much "is it fun" as it is, "is it worth the money".

The main draw here is the story, which involves Sam taking on Desperado at their headquarters in Denver. Fans of Metal Gear Rising will really appreciate subtle nods and backstory titbits here and there, though nothing substantial is really revealed. It does however, act as an …

No studio in the world makes games like Platinum Studios. The creators of Madworld, Bayonetta, and Vanquish, all stunningly gorgeous and unique games in their own right, manage to seamlessly meld both absurdity and finesse.

In the hands of the more-than-capable studio, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will win over many fans who still hold reservations about a Metal Gear canonical game largely out of Konami's hands.

Hello again sorry if I haven't posted any blogs because I've been busy. But anyway I just to go ahead and explain the title of this blog.

Ok, One of the major plot points of MGS Peace Walker is proving The Boss's innocence. And in Big Boss and Strangelove mind Peace Walker proved The Boss innocence. 4. I'm not sure on the Disfigured Man on who he could be but this is a shot in the dark but it could be a former enemy (I did assume it could of been Zero himself but i then real…

The reason being is that i borrowed that game off mty mate and being me, i was reluctant to play on it, but i kept on it and i just thinkn its the most epicest game ever!!! But before MGS3, i was an absolute crap gamer, seriously, i was. And akso since playing on MGS3, i have opened my eyes to a broader horizon of gaming genres, like fantasy, medieval, racing and combat. But i mentioned that i borrowed Metal Gear Solid 3, and yes, i was very emotional when it came to returning it, i was considering emigrating, so i can keep the game. So, a few months went by and i was mourning the loss of an awesome game, …
