[edit] Pitfalls
A man-made pit that has been covered with various leaves and sticks to conceal it within the environment. If stepped on, the artificial floor will give way, causing whatever stepped on it to fall into a pit which is usually filled with wooden spikes, or simply too deep to climb out from.
[edit] Tripwire Traps
Tripwire traps are attached to a variety of devices that can injure Snake, or alert nearby guards. Tripwires are usually visible by a rope outstretched between two trees, and if viewed through thermal goggles, give a slight heat signature. They can be avoided by crawling under, rolling over, or activating them from afar with a grenade or other weapon.
- Log: When triggered, a log fitted with sharp stakes will plummet within the path of the victim, causing severe lacerations.
- Cans: Physically harmless, when triggered a series of cans will rattle violently, making a noise any nearby adversaries will notice.
- Explosive: When triggered, this tripwire releases a grenade which explodes instantly, causing burns and heavy damage.
- Darts: A series of poisonous darts will be launched if this trap is activated.
[edit] Mines
If Snake or Raiden steps on or near to a landmine, it will explode and deplete a great chunk of their health.
