Catherine was the daughter of McDonell Miller.[1] At the time of the Zanzibar Land Disturbance in 1999, she was residing with her father.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Catherine (キャサリー Kyasarī?) is a character who is mentioned in the Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake manual, under Master Miller's biography. Although she does not make an appearance in the game itself, dummied dialogue suggests that she was to have had a minor speaking role, wherein a character named Carrie (キャリー Kyarī?) informs Solid Snake via radio that her daddy is not available to talk due to his going fishing, providing Snake with a new radio frequency to contact him.[2] If true, this dialogue implies that Catherine was still a child at the time of Operation Intrude F014, as she tells Snake to "come and play with [her] next time."[2] Catherine's name also appeared via answer choice in the Déjà Vu Extra Op quiz in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
The Metal Gear Solid 4 Database reiterates the limited information regarding Catherine from the Metal Gear 2 manual, in its entry for Master Miller.[3] However, it does so after summarizing Miller's career up to his retirement in Alaska, giving the impression that Catherine lived with him during the events of Metal Gear Solid, rather than Metal Gear 2.
