Crotch grab

The Crotch Grab is a reoccurring event surrounding Raiden/Raikov. As the name implies, the act involves clutching tightly of the male genitalia, whether to verify gender, find an American secret agent, or to simply knock your enemy out in one go - all usually involving a Raiden of some variation. As a rule, all crotch grabs must be executed by males against males.

Though chronologically the first grab was done in 1960's, the first documented case was in 2009, during the Big Shell Incident, by the President of United States himself. This crotch grab was perfectly executed on a surprised Raiden. Feeling the crotch of one's manhood, a surprised President Johnson spoke: "You're...a man!?". According to the official script of the game, President Johnson had mistaken Raiden for Olga (who both look very similar to one another).

Canonically, it was Big Boss who received the squeeze this time - however, for his part, he was just at the wrong place while wearing the wrong face. Dressed as Major Raikov, Colonel Volgin thought it would only be fitting to grab the crotch of the man he thought was his lover. Colonel Volgin, now having felt an unaroused crotch (as Snake himself is obviously uninterested in Volgin), immediately uncovered Snake's identity, battered, and later proceeded to torture him.
In Subsistence, two more variations of the crotch grab are observed. One is in the online mode, Raikov, as the leader of the GRU, has a special, 1-hit knockout CQC attack: the crotch grab. The other appears during the Secret Theaters short, Snake Eraser. Raiden from the future, in his attempt to assassinate Big Boss, ends up being crotch grabbed inside a jail cell by Colonel Volgin, who then attempts to playfully rape Raiden, still thinking he's Raikov.

The crotch grab was introduced in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as a new CQC move Old Snake uses to knock out his enemies instantly as he holds them up[source?].
The move is, however, totally ineffective on FROGS, due to them being comprised solely of women. If Snake attempts to perform a crotch grab on a FROG while they are being held up, they will slap him, which breaks the Hold up, thus freeing them to shoot the player.
