Ellen Madnar (エレン・マッドナー Eren Maddonā?) was a former Bolshoi Ballet star and the only daughter of scientist Dr. Drago Pettrovich Madnar. She was kidnapped by the mercenary force of Outer Heaven and held hostage in order to coerce her father into developing Metal Gear TX-55. However, she was saved by Solid Snake during Operation Intrude N313, reunited with her father at the end. Afterwards, she decided to remain in Russia while her father went to the United States. She became a "fan" of Snake, as Dr. Madnar tells him during Operation Intrude F014. Apparently, she was going to be married during the time of the Zanzibar Land uprising.

- Ellen's full name was originally listed as Elen Pettrovich in the MSX2 manual for Metal Gear. This was changed in subsequent re-releases when it was established that Madnar is Pettrovich's surname.
