It was developed at the request of the Hungarian military.

Peace Walker Incident[]

Main article: Peace Walker Incident

During the Peace Walker Incident in 1974, Big Boss and his mercenary unit, the Militaires Sans Frontieres, procured design specs of the AMD-63 after sneaking into Puerto del Alba at night undetected.

Gameplay[]

In-game description[]

"A modified version of the RK47 produced at the request of the Romanian military. The grip is attached to the forestock, giving it improved controllability compared to the RK during sustained fire.
The ADM63 uses the same ammo as the RK and is equally effective at stopping targets in their tracks. A good addition to your arsenal if you anticipate facing an enemy charge.
"

Behind the scenes[]

Despite being mentioned as a Romanian version of the AK-47, it is not. The Romanians produced their own foregrip-equipped copy of the AK—the Pistol Mitralieră model 1963/1965—but it is not the same thing as the AMD 63/65. It is possible that the developers were confused about the which rifle belonged to which country.
