Arakawa Under the Bridge (荒川アンダー ザ ブリッジ Arakawa Andā za Burijji?) is a Japanese manga series created by Hikaru Nakamura, and published by Square Enix. The manga was first serialized in the Japanese seinen manga magazine Young GanGan on December 3, 2004. An anime adaptation by Shaft was broadcast in Japan between April 4, 2010 and June 27, 2010 on TV Tokyo. A second season, titled Arakawa Under the Bridge*2, aired in Japan between October 3, 2010 and December 26, 2010.
Relation to the Metal Gear series[]
In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, DLC related to the manga was released on June 2010. The DLC included 6 UB T-shirts featuring the characters Ric, Nino, Hoshi, Sister, the Village Chief, and Maria, as well as two exclusive magazine items (called Comic Mag) that depicted the covers of Volumes 6 and 8 of the manga. In addition, Tomokazu Sugita, the Japanese voice actor for Kazuhira Miller, had previously voiced Hoshi in the anime adaptation. When listed in the uniform select list, it is displayed as "UB-" and then the japanese characters for the names of characters. The shirts, alongside with the Monster Hunter T-shirts, cost 74 KB each.

Anime Adaptation[]
On the final episode of Arakawa Under the Bridge X Bridge — chapter 153: The Voice of God, during their fight between Sister and Maria. Sister suddenly heard a voice from "God." As he kneels down while he ask for a strategy to defeat Maria, he listens to his command and follows "its" order. And as he put down his pistol, he takes out his knife-equipped-crucifix necklace and said "Get in close and use CQC," revealing Big Boss in the background in his army salute.
