Collaboration with the Metal Gear franchise[]

Hot Toys' involvement with the Metal Gear series started in 2012 celebrating the series' 25th Anniversary with the announcement of 2 new figures in their Video Game Masterpiece category, revealing 1/6 scale figures of Naked Snake and The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Appearing in their Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D concept designs rather than their original, each figure is sculpted by Jung Ju Won and has over 80 points of articulation. Both were released in late 2012 with various accessories and in packages designed by Yoji Shinkawa.

In 2014, Hot Toys announced a 1/6 scale figure of Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was on it's way. The figure was sculpted by J.C. Hong and was planned for a late 2014 release. Raiden would come with accessories he uses in Metal Gear Rising and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. A limited pre-order offer of having Samuel Rodriguez's signature weapon, the HF Masamura and it's sheath added to the figure was exclusive to various online distributors. In late 2014, a exclusive limited edition version of the same Raiden 1/6 scale figure was announced, but this time, sporting his Inferno Armor instead. This special Raiden includes all the accessories the standard version has, including the pre-order exclusive HF Masamura accessory. The figure was released exclusively at Hot Toys panel at Toy Fairs in 2015.
