The Tornado-6 Revolver was a 6-round revolver that served as the personal firearm of Ocelot in the 1980s. Ocelot briefly handed one of his Tornado-6 revolvers to the then-recently released Quiet and gave her permission to fire at the UTH-66 Blackfoot chopper's rotating rotor blades when explaining her abilities of depth perception to a hesitant Kazuhira Miller.

Behind the scenes[]

The Tornado-6 Revolver is a fictional weapon that appears in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online 3. It was not identified upon release of either game, but was named in an update of Metal Gear Online 3, when Ocelot, who dual wields the weapon, was added as a playable character. The Tornado-6 became available for development in the May 10, 2016 update of The Phantom Pain, starting at Grade 3. The revolver's bullets can be ricochet fired during gameplay. It appears to be named after Ocelot's motion capture actor in Metal Gear Solid 3, Kenichi "Tornado" Yoshida.[1]

In keeping with other weapons featured in Metal Gear Solid V, the Tornado-6 Revolver is based on a real life weapon, taking design cues from the Mateba 2006M[1] rather than the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, which had been Ocelot's signature weapon in past games. It also served the same real life weapon basis as the Uragan-5 ("Uragan" being the Russian word for "hurricane").
