During a guerrilla offensive in the Soviet-Afghan war in 1984, this prisoner was to be taken to the Wakh Sind Barracks by Soviet escort in a four-wheel drive.[1] Before his capture, the prisoner had discovered the location of a hidden staging area for the Soviet counter-offensive, at Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost.

Before he could arrive at his destination, however, the vehicle was intercepted by the leader of Diamond Dogs, Venom Snake, who had learned about the prisoner transfer from his subordinate Ocelot.[2] After learning of Snake's mission to neutralize Soviet mechanized reinforcements to support the guerillas, the rescued prisoner returned the favor by supplying information on the location of the hidden staging area.[3][4]

Behind the scenes[]

The escorted prisoner is one of six prisoners found in Episode 9 "Back Up, Backdown." As his name implies, the prisoner is in transit. Rescuing him will result in the Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost becoming a target. His name upon being recruited into Diamond Dogs is Vile Buffalo.

Unlike the other POWs, his language is Russian instead of Pashto, which alongside his statements to Venom Snake about his knowledge of a hidden staging area implies that he had been a Soviet defector who got caught. However, interacting with him when rescuing him will have him verbally speak English like the other POWs.
