The Four Horsemen (フォー・ホースメン Fō Hōsumen?) were an assassination squad employed by Zanzibar Land that specialized in close-quarters combat. They were comprised of former elite members of UDT, GSG 9 and SAS. They utilized their combined skills within confined spaces to their advantage.
They fought against Solid Snake during Operation Intrude F014 in the central elevator of the Tower Building, under direct orders from Gray Fox and Big Boss.
[edit] Trivia
- In the original MSX2 version of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, the Four Horsemen were named Ultra Box. They were named after the British pop band Ultravox. Their name was changed to the Four Horsemen in the re-releases of Metal Gear 2.
- The Four Horsemen are named after the biblical figures from the Book of Revelation known as the "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse."
- There is a mandatory battle in Metal Gear Solid which resembles the boss fight against the Four Horsemen in Metal Gear 2, in which Snake must fight off four stealth-equipped Genome Soldiers in the elevator of Communication Tower B.
