In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, in order to survive or regain stamina, you must eat food. This article contains information about the frogs in the game.

It's just like the Tree Frog. Except it's more colorful and poisons you! Joy! Just throw it at enemies, unless you like being poisoned. They can be found from the shallow waters of Chyornyj Prud to Sokrovenno West, but the best place to find them is in Graniny Gorki South before or during the battle with The Fear so that you can use them against him. These can help deplete The Fear's stamina if he eats them, but he'll rarely go after live poison dart frogs on his own, so you'll need to toss dead ones out in the open for him to take once he gets hungry (less than 50% stamina).

It is significantly bigger and tastier than the tree frog. According to Para-Medic, they are considered a delicacy, thus a decent meal and worth capturing. They are almost a frequent as the tree frog, and are a little easier to spot. They can be found from Dremuchij North to Zaozyorje North.

- Stamina Recovery: Minimal
- Capture: Yes
A small creature, usually found in grass, caves and swimming at the surface of lakes and ponds. Only good for recovering a tiny bit of stamina. These frogs are small and frequently difficult to see, but are found in numerous places. The earliest places to find them are Dremuchij South, Swampland, and North, although they are heavily camouflaged by the environment here. The last place to find them is Zaozyorje North. The easiest place to spot them is Tikhogomyj: Behind Waterfall.
During the one-on-one battle with Colonel Volgin in Groznyj Grad B1, throwing a live tree frog on the ground can distract Volgin. He'll say "Kuwabara, Kuwabara" and attack it with bolts of lightning until it dies or you distract him yourself. The only place where you can capture them before this battle is in Tikhogomyj: Behind Waterfall.
