The Nintendo Wii is a current generation console created by Nintendo. Notable for using a motion sensing controller and therefore inspiring games wih innovative gameplay. Hideo Kojima has stated that once Guns of the Patriots is complete he would like to create a game for this system.

One game for the Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature Solid Snake as a playable character.

One of the Wii's "channels" is the Wii Shop Channel, which is used to purchase and download games from Nintendo's vast back catalog of video games, as well as a few of Nintendo's competitors (along with new games, WiiWare, and more channels). Two consoles which are featured are the NES, the MSX and the Commodore 64. This opens up the possibility that both the Original Metal Gear, and the re-worked version for the NES may pop up on the Virtual Console in the future, though as of early 2008, nothing is planned. It's also possible that MSX2-games will be available, rising the pssibility for Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake aswell.
