During the Big Shell Incident in 2009, Jennifer, alongside her colleagues on the inspection team headed by President James Johnson of the Big Shell, was held hostage by the terrorist group Sons of Liberty, headed by Johnson's predecessor, George Sears (Solidus Snake). She was held at the B1 Basement of the Shell 1 Core. She was wounded by gunfire when bullets ricoheted off the Cyborg Ninja's blade and hit her and several other hostages. She was later rescued along with the other surviving hostages by Hal Emmerich.
Behind the scenes
Jennifer is a minor incidental character in the Plant chapter of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The name Jennifer was reused from one of the characters in Metal Gear. She is among the hostages in the Shell 1 Core's conference room though there has never any indication that this is the case. The "FOXHOUND" operative Raiden, when trying to seek out Richard Ames, a Secret Service agent that was a contact at the Shell 1 Core, can briefly inquire whether she was Ames, only to be corrected when she tells him her name. Pressing the L3 button will have Raiden comment on her bra measurements, although this was omitted from the PlayStation Vita version of Metal Gear Solid 2, due to the fact that the PS Vita doesn't have a L3 button.
Jennifer also appears as two cards in Metal Gear Acid 2. In her standard card's description, it mentioned that the numbers "35 25 37" are on a plate attached to the desk she was leaning against, even though she wasn't leaning against a desk in the actual game. In addition, the plate doesn't appear in the actual game either.
- "One of the hostages being held in auditorium B1 of central wing 1 of "Big Shell." For some reason, the plate attached to the desk she's leaning against reads "35 25 37." Put her to sleep with the tranquilizer gun and..."
