This article is about the instrumental theme for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. You may be looking for "Heavens Divide", the lyrical theme for the same game.

"Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Main Theme" is a musical theme in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, composed by Akihiro Honda. It was first unveiled as the background track for the E3 2009 trailer, as well as the opening movie for the game itself.

It was also used in-game for the first phase of the final battle with Peace Walker in Chapter 4, with some bars being heard in the preceding cutscene of the fight, as well as the concluding cutscene of the preceding level. Because of the Extra Ops mech battles to some extent reusing the cutscenes preceding the battles, some bars were heard in the preceeding cutscene of the Custom and Type II battles against Peace Walker, although it was not used for the Type II and Custom battles themselves (they instead had the track "Uninterrupted Signal" playing). It was later released as a DLC Walkman track and also a VOCALOID piece.

Remixed versions of the theme can be found on the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Heiwa to Kazuhira no Blues soundtrack and also heard in the instrumentals for the song "It Has to be This Way" during the final fight against Steven Armstrong in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. In the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Music Collection, the theme is the first song heard in the Peace Walker medley. An orchestrated version of the song was also featured as part of the mission preparation menu for the demo for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at E3 2015, as well as a collectable cassette tape in the game itself. The cassette tape, titled METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER Main Theme, can be found in the Quarantine Platform's basement during the events of Mission 43: Shining Lights, Even in Death. The theme will also be made available as a BGM option in the Version 1.02 update for Metal Gear Online 3, titled "MGS:PW THEME."
