The PlayStation 2 is a video games console released by Sony. It is the successor to the PlayStation and the predessessor to the PlayStation 3. Although in the rest of the world the PlayStation 2 will be replaced by the PlayStation 3. In Australasia and Europe it is likely to last longer as their PlayStation 3s backwards compatability has been crippled.
