This article is about the hardware used by Pieuvre Armement in South America. You may be looking for the exoskeletons used by the Cyborg Ninjas and the Sons of Liberty, or the Haven Trooper suits.

Powered suits were combat enhancement protective gear developed by AT's Land Systems Department. Because the suits allowed for dynamic activity with only the slightest of movement by the user, these units were suited to carrying and operating heavy artillery and transporting supplies over long distances or through mountainous areas. They were also armed with multi-barrel guns and several missile launch tubes.

Powered suits were used by Pieuvre Armement soldiers deployed to South America in 2014, namely for carrying supplies. They were present in the Cove Valley Village, when the PMC's commander Laughing Octopus attacked some of the rebel soldiers they had captured. Afterwards, when Liquid Ocelot removed these soldiers from the SOP system, they became overwhelmed by their formerly suppressed emotions, and began attacking their own comrades. The powered suit soldiers also attacked Drebin 893's Stryker as it attempted to escape from the Vista Mansion.

Powered suit soldiers appear in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and are encountered by the player during the escape in South America, on board Drebin's Stryker. They share similarities with the Laborious Extra-Orbital Vehicle (LEV) from Konami's Zone of the Enders series, which also makes a cameo appearance in the game.

A similar device called the "power suit" appears in the non-canon game Snake's Revenge, located in the enemy territory. It allowed Solid Snake the abiltiy to move large boulders easily.

If the powered suit soldiers are scanned by the Solid Eye system, it will list their weapons as being of an unknown make.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl Snake can talk to Otacon via the Codec about Samus Aran from the Metroid series, saying that he can see "[a woman] in a power suit..."

In Metal Gear Online, one of the accessories that the player could use to customize their character, if the player earned enough reward points, was the helmet for the powered suit soldiers, referred to as full head gear set, costing 4000 rwd. The player could also gain helmet liner for the suits without it being a full set, with the amount being 1000 rwd for Black, Olive Drab, Coyote Brown, Khaki, Navy Blue, Sage Green, Slate Gray, Dark Slate Gray, and Green, and 3000 rwd for Maroon and White varieties.
