[edit] Coral Snake
- Ration Name: SNAKE D
- Initial Taste: Tasty
- Danger Level: Medium
- Stamina Recovery: Moderate
- Capture: Yes
This snake looks very similar to the milk snake. There is a simple way to tell them apart, however; on a coral snake red and yellow bands touch, while on a milk snake red and black bands touch. Beware this snake's bite, since it will poison you. Usually found in deserts and swamps. It is first found in Chyornyj Prud, where it is easily confused with the Milk Snake, and is last found in Svyatogornyj South.
[edit] Giant Anaconda
- Ration Name: SNAKE G
- Initial Taste: Tasty
- Danger Level: Low
- Stamina Recovery: High
- Capture: Yes
The Reticulated Python's bigger brother. It is harder to find and gives some more stamina than it's counterpart. Other than that, it is almost the same. It's first found in Dremuchij South, and is last found in Tikhogornyj.
[edit] Green Tree Python
- Ration Name: SNAKE F
- Initial Taste: Fairly Tasty
- Danger Level: Low
- Stamina Recovery: Moderate
- Capture: Yes
This python can be distinguished from other snakes by its solid green coloration and by the fact that it hangs from tree branches. It is first seen in Dremuchij East; during Operation Snake Eater, Snake must pass under the branch it hangs from to continue. The Green Tree Python is the only non-unique food item to appear in the last area where it can be found, Rokovoj Bereg, where it stands out from the area's uniformly white plant life.
[edit] King Cobra
- Ration Name: SNAKE A
- Initial Taste: Outstanding
- Danger Level: Medium
- Stamina Recovery: High
- Capture: Yes
Just like its cousins, it's easy to catch, tastes good and gives good stamina recovery. This one is a bit different though because it gives more of everything, but that includes danger. When crawling in the grass, caves or vents you will often come across one. If it bites you, it will poison Snake. If you don't Cure Snake immediately, he will lose health constantly. It isn't really a big problem though, so feel free to knife the bugger. The King Cobra can first be found in Dremuchij North during Operation Snake Eater, and appears last in Bolshaya Past Crevice.
[edit] Milk Snake
- Ration Name: SNAKE E
- Initial Taste: Bad
- Danger Level: Low
- Stamina Recovery: Minimal
- Capture: Yes
Its appearance is similar to the coral snake, the only difference being that on a milk snake red and black bands touch, while on a coral snake red and yellow bands touch. However, it is much more docile and will not attack Snake. It also tastes very bad, as opposed to the tastier coral snake. It is first found in Chyornyj Prud, where it is easily confused with the Coral Snake, and is last found in the Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior.
[edit] Reticulated Python
- Ration Name: SNAKE H
- Initial Taste: Tasty
- Danger Level: Low
- Stamina Recovery: Moderate
- Capture: Yes
By far the most common snake in the game, and one of the most common animals. Restores a good portion of stamina, and is rather easy to catch. Is known to bite in grass. Often found in grass and caves. The Reticulated Python can be first found in Dremuchij South, and is last found in Zaozyorje North.
[edit] Taiwanese Cobra
- Ration Name: SNAKE B
- Initial Taste: Tasty
- Danger Level: Medium
- Stamina Recovery: Moderate
- Capture: Yes
Another of the snakes. It's like all the others and almost exactly like the Thai Snake. It will poison you if it bites you, though, so be careful. It can first be found in the Chyomaya Peschera Cave Branch, and is last found in the Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior.
[edit] Thai Cobra
- Ration Name: SNAKE C
- Initial Taste: Fairly Tasty
- Danger Level: Medium
- Stamina Recovery: Moderate
- Capture: Yes
Just like the other snakes, but this one will bite you out in the open, and is rather easy to see unlike the King Cobra. Worth the effort of capture, feel free to obtain one. In the later areas that you find them, you might need them, since the air is rather thin thousands of feet up. It is first seen in the Chyomaya Peschera Cave Entrance, and appears last on the Krasnogorje Mountainside.
[edit] Secret Snakes
[edit] Snake Liquid/Solid/Solidus
- Ration Name: SNAKE I/J/K
- Initial Taste: Outstanding
- Danger Level: None
- Stamina Recovery: Special (FULL BAR!)
- Capture: Yes
They're all silvery-white snakes that give amazing amounts of stamina and taste most excellent. One of each can be found in Rokovoj Bereg; each one appears near one of the three logs in this area. They can be difficult to find without the thermal goggles or similar equipment. One of each must be caught to obtain the Markhor ranking and/or the EZ Gun.
[edit] Tsuchinoko
- Ration Name: TCHNKO
- Initial Taste: Outstanding
- Danger level: None
- Stamina Recovery: High
- Capture: YES!
The Tsuchinoko is a small, invisible snake, that is undetectable by radar, thermal goggles and anything of the sort. The only way to capture it is to set one or more mousetraps in an area with no other live animals. If you keep it until the end of the game alive, you will unlock the Infinity Face Paint. Two locations are preferred for catching the Tsuchinoko: Bolshaya Past South and Graniny Gorki South. It's much easier to catch in Bolshaya Past South, since there are no other animals there to get caught in your mousetraps. If the Tsuchinoko is caught before the torture scene in Groznyj Grad, Snake will need to catch it alive again in Tikhogornyj, where it is now visible and stationary on the ground by the waterfall. Snake can now capture it using any means at his disposal, such as the Mk22 or the Cig Gas-Spray.
