Swan was a female member of the private military company Militaires Sans Frontières, and the girlfriend of Armadillo.
Sometime after a sauna was created at MSF's base of operations, Mother Base, the deputy commander of MSF, Kazuhira Miller, ended up spending time alone with her, and they conducted soap play. She was also implied to have scratched Miller while having intercourse with him. Armadillo, Swan's boyfriend, fainted upon witnessing this, causing a commotion that scared the seagulls away and resulted in him being hospitalized for a month. Big Boss eventually heard of Armadillo's injury and grew suspicious as to what actually happened, as Armadillo was prided as being as "sturdy as a tank." After interviewing Gazelle, another female MSF member Miller slept with, as well as Miller recognizing the soldier who fainted as Armadillo when Big Boss mentioned someone got injured there and discovering scratches all over his body including near his privates, Big Boss proceeded to reprimand Miller for this as well as his overall womanizing behavior, as Miller was setting a very bad example for the MSF members, which escalated into a full-on brawl that Paz Ortega Andrade ended up witnessing and recording in her diary tapes.
