If I remember correctly, weren't clothing items purely cosmetic in MGO2?
And each unique character in MGO2 had their benefits if I recall correctly, they had their own special abilites to be used.
A co-op gametype would be pretty cool and would also make sense with the tagline - Tactical Team Operations. However, I think the whole cooperative element may just be in coordination and teamwork in the competitive gametypes. Which there should be quite a few of.
True, but this is not MGO2, this is MGO3. Just think about all the differences between MGO1 and MGO2. Them wasn't quite the same game, definitly, so that is what I expect from MGO3, to don't be quite the same game of MGO2. After all, if my memory don't betray me, Kojima himself said he decided assign to Kojima Productions Los Angeles the development of MGO3 to could make a whole new game which would be much more world wide appealing then the preview. Who know what they would put out from the magic hat? I would be largely disapointed if MGO3 would be just a better looking MGO2. Hoping they wouldn't add something like 'Racing on Metal Gears', but hey: at least it would be something different and unexpected...
About the characters, sure they had special abilities and special weapons aviable just to them, othen the special animations and I guess they would have some too in MGO3. Big boss have his arms and all the trick he had into it, while Ocelot seem to wield some pretty customized revolver. Unsure why he didn't used his signature Peacemakers, but well... I guess advanced war needs advanced guns...
Least but not least, Co-op/PvE... For what concern me, after Peace Walker, I'll enjoy a lot cooperative mission against AI and bosses. I dream about a kind of Survival mode taking place during the MSF destruction, fighting off the Xof soldier while recovering wounded comrates and materials.
