[edit] Trucks

Russian Maz-535 heavy trucks could be seen during Operation Snake Eater. Specifically in the inner courtyard of the Grani-Gorki Lab, and inside parts of Groznyj Grad.

During the San Hieronymo Takeover, a young Big Boss and Roy Campbell stole a military truck to transport supplies and troops.

Russian Ural-4320 trucks and the 8x8 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck were used by the Militia during Liquid Ocelot's Insurrection. They can also be seen in South America.

In some instances, Snake can climb into trucks and, utilising cardboard boxes can be taken to certain locations.

[edit] Tanks

A large group of Soviet Objekt 279 prototype tanks are kept in Groznyj Grad. These are destroyed while the Shagohod chases Snake and EVA. This unusual tank was designed with double tread units and a lozenge-shaped hull to prevent it being flipped over by the blast of a battlefield nuclear weapon, but proved too expensive to mass produce. Only one was ever built, that prototype now housed in Russia's Kubinka tank museum. That Volgin has multiple vehicles is an indication of his colossal resources, showing he can mass-produce a tank the entire Soviet Union couldn't afford to.

A tank was used in Operation Intrude N313 to impede Solid Snake's progress. During this operation, Snake managed to destroy it using landmines.

Also, a Goliath-class Tank was the primary Tank class in Zanzibar Land.

An M1A1 Abrams main battle tank was used by Vulcan Raven and three Genome soldiers while battling against Solid Snake. Unlike previous operations, Snake needed to throw grenades on to the top or into the hatch while the gunner was visible. To ease his progress, he could use C4 or Claymore mines to damage the treads, therefore hindering its movement. An M1A1 tank can also be found in the tank hangar in MGS4, during act 4.

[edit] Armored Personnel Carriers & Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Numerous Soviet-made BTR-152 APCs can be seen throughout Grozny Grad and are also encountered by Naked Snake and Eva during their escape by motorcycle.

A Russian BMP-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle was used by milita soldiers during the rise of Liquid Ocelot in the Middle East.

[edit] Motorcycles

In Operation Snake Eater, EVA rides a Russian-made replica of a German BMW R75 motorcycle; without the sidecar, it's extrordinarily powerful and she is highly compentant with it. Later while chased by the Shagohod, it is seen with the sidecar fitted, Naked Snake acting as her gunner as the two flee Groznyj Grad. In Act 3 of Guns of the Patriots, Big Mama and Old Snake ride on a Triumph Bonneville (one of the post 2001 remakes produced in Hinckley, this particlar bike in the game also has various add ons from Triumphs 'Sixty-8' line of accessories) whilst some of the resistance members use black Triumph Speed Triple 1050's.

During Snake and EVA's flight from Groznyj Grad, Ocelot and many soldiers pursue them on motorcycles.

[edit] Humvees

See Humvee

Several High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles can be seen in Act 3 of MGS4. These are used by the Raven Sword PMC group to patrol the city streets and to chase Snake and Big Mama. A small number of them also appeared in several roadblocks set up by the Praying Mantis PMC forces in Act 1. US Army and Marine Corps units also utilized Humvees when surrounding Liquid at the finale of Act 3. All Humvees in game are armed with 50.calibre machine-guns.

[edit] Jeeps

On Shadow Moses island, two M151 M.U.T.T.'s (Military Utility Tactical Trucks) are seen in the Parking Garage. In the final sequence of the game, either Meryl or Otacon drives one the jeeps while Snake controls the mounted M-60 machine gun. During the sequence, Snake encounters multiple checkpoints and, eventually, Liquid Snake gives chase in the other jeep that was seen in the garage.

[edit] Bulldozer

A bulldozer was used in Operation Intrude N313 to impede Snake's progress by attempting to run him over. Snake managed to destroy it using grenades.

A Israeli-manufactured Caterpillar D9R armored bulldozer was seen in Act 1 of Guns of the Patriots supporting the Militia in their drive towards the PMC base, and was destroyed shortly afterwards by Crying Wolf. Another, this one supporting the FROGs, was seen earlier when it broke through a wall on the bottom floor of the Advent Palace; these may be the same vehicle. A third is seen later breaking into the PMC controlled mansion in Act 2.

[edit] Strykers

See Stryker

Two variants of the Stryker family of 8x8 armored vehicles appear in MGS4, used by Liquid's PMC forces. These variants include the Infantry Carrier Vehicles and the Mobile Gun System. ICV's are used to deploy PMC soldiers into combat zones; they are also equipped with a .50cal (12.7mm) machine gun. Despite the formidable presence they pose, they can be destroyed with anti-tank weapons, such as the RPG-7. The Mobile Gun System variant appears during the South America campaign; these Strykers give chase to Snake and Drebin while they make their escape. The Mobile Gun System also appeared in use with the Praying Mantis PMC in early versions of the game.

Drebin 893 also has his own custom version of the Stryker ICV, normally colored black, with his signature phrase "Eye Have You" written on it. In several cutscenes, it is seen to have a hull with abilities similar to OctoCamo, capable of altering its color and surface texture.

[edit] Hover Platforms

Sentries patrolling the rivers and mountainside of Tselinoyarsk use air-powered floating platforms to get a bird's-eye view of their surroundings. During the 1950's, the US military developed a prototype hovering plataform, designed for scout missions & searching for hostile artillery. But the project didn't last long - problems were found with the prototype's turning speed & top speed, so it was scrapped even before it could see official use. Unlike the North-American version - which used a counter-spinning dual rotor system to stay afloat, the Soviet models use jet engines, giving them an increase of top speed - enough to catch up with a WIG during takeoff. The platforms have a very powerful frontal defense, most weapons having no chance of breaking through it. The M63 and the RPG-7 are effective encounters against the platforms though will trigger an Alert Mode. Rather than destroying the vehicle itself, the player can aim at the pilot though this can be difficult especially in a situation where the player has to engage them with no heavy weapons. Shooting the flashlights can hinder the platform for a short time.

Naked Snake fights Cunningham while he uses a modified version of the Hover Platform.
