Yumi Kikuchi (菊池 由美 Kikuchi Yumi?, born March 15, 1974 in New York City, New York) is a Japanese model, singer, and voice actress. She is a personal friend of Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima. She also is part of an in-house band called "Two-Han Princess" alongside voice actress Kikuko Inoue.
Her roles in the Metal Gear series were Raging Raven's beauty form in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (who was also modeled after her, as well as the motion capture artist for the character), as well as Dr. Strangelove from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In Peace Walker, she also had voice DLC for Pupa, Chrysalis, and Cocoon. She also had cameos throughout the series as a model on a gravure poster. During TGS 2011, she appeared on-stage with Hideo Kojima where she covered some bits about the HD Collection, as well as unveiled rare footage of the game including a commercial featuring Kojima.[1] Furthermore, she unveiled alongside Kojima two uchiwa fans with their faces on it, revealing the secret fans.[2] Kikuchi also tweeted that she, as well as Kikuko Inoue, would be doing voice work for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.[3]
Prior to formally debuting in the Metal Gear series as a voice actress, she also acted as the basis for some Gravure posters found throughout Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, with her serving a similar role in addition to portraying Raging Raven in Metal Gear Solid 4.
